Department of Evaluation and Supervision

The Department of Evaluation and Supervision is a new department of the NDRC formed after the reform of the Party and state apparatus in 2018. It was formally established in March 2019. Its main responsibilities are to formulate the evaluation and supervision system for major strategic plans, major policies, major projects (herein after referred to as “three majors”) and organize their implementations; put forward relevant evaluation opinions and suggestions for improvement measures.

“Deployment accounts for ten percent, while implementation accounts for ninety percent.” Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has further pushed for implementation, strengthened supervision and inspection with greater determination and strength, and formed a clear-cut standing for political awareness and vigorous implementation in the whole party. The establishment of our department is an important institutional arrangement of the NDRC to implement the decisions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. It is a major measure to promote the modernization of the governance system and capabilities. It is also an important step of the NDRC to achieve better implementation results in carrying out major strategic plans, major policies, and major projects.

In the great new era, our department will adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully carry forward the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and the 2nd through 5th Plenary Sessions of the 19th Central Committee, and closely follow the major decisions and deployments of the CPC Leadership Group of NDRC as well as NDRC’s central tasks. Our department focuses on the “three majors” initiated by the NDRC to carry out evaluation and supervision, and achieve better implementation of the “three majors” by identifying specific problems, analyzing the real causes, taking countermeasures, and putting into precise implementation. Through the website of the Department of Evaluation and Supervision, we will promptly report our work trends, release important policy information, share local practical experience, and listen to the public opinions and suggestions on the implementation of the "three majors" and our evaluation and supervision work. We will continue to improve the quality and efficiency of our work.
