Under the leadership of the CPC Leadership Group of NDRC, the Department of Regional Economy is mainly responsible for promoting and implementing coordinated regional development strategies, organizing and formulating regional strategies, plans and policies, and specifically undertaking the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region and the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, deepening all-round reform and opening up in Hainan, the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin, the large-scale development of the western region, revitalization of old industrial bases in northeast China, the rise of central China, the leading development of eastern China, balanced development of land and sea, comprehensive management over major river basins, state-level New Areas and other related work.
