Department of International Cooperation

Messages:
General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that we must bear two overall considerations in mind, one is the overall strategy for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and the other being changes unseen in a century. The two considerations are the basis in planning our work. The Department of International Cooperation serves as a window in NDRC’s external communication and cooperation, actively coordinates international and domestic affairs, makes new ground in pursuing opening up on all fronts, and serves to empower high-quality economic development internally.

In recent years, head-of-state diplomacy has made very positive results and contributed to the development of major country diplomacy with Chinese Characteristics. Our department has actively participated in major events of host diplomacy and high-level visits by leaders to promote new progress in multilateral and bilateral practical cooperation. We also actively coordinated the international affairs related to the Belt and Road Initiative, pushed forward negotiations and signing of cooperation documents, and steadily advanced some milestone projects. In the face of the complicated international situation, the department attaches great importance to playing an advisory role and continuously strengthens international economic research.

China is moving closer to the center of the world stage, and international cooperation is facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges.
