The Planning for China’s Standby Projects in AIIB Lending Pipeline

Recently, upon approval by the State Council, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance jointly issued the Planning for China’s Standby Projects in AIIB Lending Pipeline 2020-2021. Amount to $0.6 billion (approximately RMB 4 billion) of AIIB loan has been arranged in this planning, which will be used in such areas as air quality improvement in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding regions, cross-border connectivity, including Guangxi Chongzuo Border Connectivity Improvement Project, Zhengzhou International Hub Logistics Project and Liaoning: Green Smart Public Transport Demonstration Project.
Next, the National Development and Reform Commission will, on the basis of the implementation of the new development concept, guide relevant local authorities and project units to carry out work at an early date, further improve the project construction plan, put in place the supporting funds, promote the implementation of projects as early as possible, and give full play to the role of preferential loans in promoting investment, expanding domestic demands and propelling innovation and demonstration, as a part of our efforts to promote the high-quality development of key economic and social areas in China.
