Training Contract Signed for Section 1 Bangkok – Nakhon
Ratchasima of China-Thailand Railway Cooperation Project
Chinese side and Thai side signed the Trackwork, Electrical and Mechnical (E&M) System, EMU, and Training Contract of the Cooperation between China and Thailand on Bangkok – Nong Khai HSR Development for Regional Connectivity (Section 1 Bangkok – Nakhon Ratchasima) (hereinafter referred to as “the Contract”) in Bangkok, Thailand, on Octorber 28th. His Excellency Prayuth Chan-ocha, Prime Minister of Thailand, participated in the contract signing ceremony as an honorary witness.
The China-Thailand Railway is a major win-win cooperation project. With the join efforts of both sides, the construction of civil works has been going smooth since Section 1 Bangkok – Nakhon Ratchasima commenced in 2017. Now the signing of the Contract marks another important progress of China-Thailand railway cooperation.
Once completed, the China-Thailand Railway Cooperation Project will further improve infrastructure and connectivity level in Thailand and the Central-South Peninsula region, inject new energy for the sustainable economic development of Thailand, promote economic and trade exchanges and the exchange of people among countries along the railway, and boost regional development and prosperity. At the same time, the China-Thailand Railway Cooperation Project will further extend north to China via the China-Laos railway, which will enhance the connectivity between China and the ASEAN countries and promote the economic development in Southwest China.
