Uphold Multilateralism and Promote Building of
Human Community of Health
The COVID-19 is the most widespread global pandemic that mankind has encountered over the past century, posing a huge challenge to worldwide public health security. China upholds multilateralism and the concept of a human community with a shared future, makes concerted efforts with the international community in response to the pandemic in solidarity, and jointly builds a human community of health.
Since the COVID-19 outbreak, China has actively practiced multilateralism, explored with parties concerned the establishment of regional public health emergency liaison mechanisms, increased the speed of response to public health emergencies, and established global and regional pandemic prevention supplies reserve centers. China has always focused on strengthening communication with the international community. The Communist Party of China made joint calls with 240 political parties of more than 110 countries. President Xi Jinping attended Extraordinary G20 Leaders’ Summit and delivered important remarks in March, made statement at the Virtual Event of the Opening of the 73rd World Health Assembly in May, chaired the Extraordinary China-Africa Summit On Solidarity Against COVID-19 and gave a keynote speech, sent written message to the High-level Video Conference on Belt and Road International Cooperation, met with President of the European Council Charles Michel and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, sent congratulatory message to Extraordinary Meeting of Dialogue between CPC and Political Parties of Arab Countries in June. China calls on multilateral mechanisms such as G20, APEC, BRICS, and SCO to strengthen dialogues, exchanges and policy coordination, with a view to promoting international cooperation in joint pandemic prevention and control, establishing a strong defense line to ensure the safety and health of all humans, and jointly building a human community of health.
