Business Leaders from China and U.S. Call for
Cooperation between the Two Countries
On June 18th, China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce（USCC） jointly held a “cloud dialogue” for Chinese and U.S. business leaders. Zeng Peiyan, Chairman of CCIEE, and Thomas Donohue, Chairman and CEO of USCC, led the dialogue. 16 business representatives from China and U.S. in agriculture, transportation, energy, insurance, healthcare, science and technology sectors attended the online meeting.
In the dialogue, participants exchanged views on promoting the implementation of the China-US phase-one economic and trade agreement and challenges brought by de-globalization. They agreed that the sudden outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has posed a great threat to the safety and health of people all over the world, and negatively impacted the global economic and social development. China and United States should join hands in the fight against COVID-19, strengthen mutual communication, properly handle and manage differences, further develop the mutually beneficial and win-win economic cooperation to create good atmosphere for the implementation of the China-US phase-one economic and trade agreement and jointly promote global economic recovery.
