Time to Build Public Health Community
of Shared Future for Mankind
The COVID-19 pandemic is the most urgent and severest challenge to the public health for mankind and peaceful development of the world. Upholding the concept of the global community of shared future for mankind, China has been strengthening solidarity and cooperation with participating countries and international organizations for the Belt and Road Initiative, in joint efforts to combat the virus and overcome the difficulties, with a common view to safeguarding the worldwide public health security.
Recently, the Silk Road Think Tank Association hosted a thematic cloud forum under the theme of working together to meet public health security challenges and build the Health Silk Road. Over 30 former politicians and think tank scholars from more than 10 countries attended the forum, calling for building the public health community of shared future for mankind, within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, in the principle of extensive consultation, joint efforts and shared benefits.
By adopting an open, transparent, and responsible attitude, China, since the COVID-19 outbreak, has been timely sharing its experience in laboratory testing, epidemiological investigation, clinical diagnosis and treatment and joint prevention and control, and supports WHO’s leading role in global cooperation to combat the epidemic. China makes active efforts to provide the international community with available assistance, and to help developing countries to enhance their public health capacity building. Up to present, Chinese government, enterprises and organizations have been providing over 140 countries, regions and international organizations with medical emergent supplies, and have sent 19 anti-contagion medical expert teams to 17 countries.
