On 17 September 2026, Chairman of the NDRC Zheng Shanjie met with Chairman of Indonesia’s National Economic Council Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan in Beijing. The two sides had friendly and in-depth exchanges on deepening China-Indonesia practical cooperation in various fields and reached consensus on the direction of future cooperation.
Zheng Shanjie stated that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state of China and Indonesia, bilateral relations have maintained a sound momentum of development. China and Indonesia are geographically close and economically complementary. NDRC stands ready to work with relevant Indonesian government authorities to jointly implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, further deepen the alignment of development strategies, continue to advance practical cooperation in various fields, uphold mutual benefit and win-win outcomes, achieve integrated and coordinated development, and jointly cultivate new drivers leading global development and progress.
Luhut stated that Indonesia attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with China in various fields and looks forward to continuing to deepen practical cooperation with China in traditional areas, create more outcomes in cooperation in emerging areas, and boost Indonesia's economic and social development. Indonesia's National Economic Council will continue to make positive contributions to promoting and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
