The National Development and Reform Commission and the World Economic Forum Jointly Launched the “Walking Davos” Field Visit to Hainan Province

From February 16th to 18th, 2023, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the World Economic Forum (WEF) jointly organized foreign-funded enterprises to attend the “Walking Davos” Field Visit to Hainan Province themed “Seeking High-level Opening-up and Building a World-class Free Trade Port”, in order to better promote China’s opening-up policies and measures to optimize the business environment and help the construction and development of Hainan Free Trade Port (Hainan FTP).

On the afternoon of February 16th, Hainan FTP Policy Promotion was held in Haikou, Hainan Province. Feng Fei, Governor of Hainan Province, Wu Hao, Secretary General of NDRC, and Chen Liming, Chairman of the Greater China, WEF, attended and addressed the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Ni Qiang, Vice Governor of Hainan Province, during which enterprises and relevant departments exchanged and interacted on policies related to the construction of Hainan FTP. The Department of International Cooperation of NDRC, the Department of Regional Economy of NDRC, the Academy of Macroeconomic Research of NDRC, the Department of International Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, relevant officials from Haikou of Hainan Province, the Beijing Representative Office of WEF and more than 20 foreign-invested enterprises participated in the event.

The three-day trip to Hainan is the first “Walking Davos” event in 2023. Starting from February 17th, the joint team will visit Haikou, Sanya, Danzhou and Qionghai in two separate lines to carry out key visits on industrial parks and enterprises in Haikou , including Jiangdong New Area, Haikou High-tech Zone, Lecheng of Boao, Sanya Yazhou Bay Sci-Tech City, Yangpu Economic Development Zone and so on and facilitate the construction and development of Hainan FTP.
