Zheng Shanjie, Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of China met with Cuba’s Deputy Prime MinisterJorge Luis Perdomoon on March 31.
Chairman Zheng Shanjie said that under the guidance of the important consensus reached between President Xi Jinping and Cuba’s President Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel, NDRC is willing to advance multi-level cooperation with Cuba in various fields and promote further and more solid cooperation between the two countries under the“Belt and Road” Initiative. NDRC will make full use of cooperation mechanisms such as the China-Cuba Belt and Road Cooperation Joint Working Group and the China-Cuba Biotechnology Cooperation Joint Working Group, continue to deepen cooperation in fields such as information and communication, digital television, green energy transformation, and biomedicine, and promote the implementation of projects in key areas .
Perdomo introduced the economic situation in Cuba, and expressed his willingness to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and further deepen bilateral practical cooperation in key areas.
