NDRC Chairman Meets with Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan

On 4th April, Chairman Zheng Shanjie met with Indonesia's Coordinator for Cooperation with China and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan at NDRC. The two sides deeply exchanged views on issues including cooperation within the framework of Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Maritime Fulcrum, Jakarta-Bundung High-Speed Railway (JBHSR), North Kalimantan Industrial Park, and Herbal Center in Lake Toba.

Chairman Zheng Shanjie pointed out that the Jakarta-Bundung High-Speed Railway is a bilateral cooperation landmark under the guidance of the two heads of state; every remaining work should be well completed in high quality to ensure JBHSR can be opened to traffic smoothly. The two sides should follow the guidance of the Cooperation Plan on Jointly Promoting Cooperation within the Framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Maritime Fulcrum, facilitate Chinese enterprises investing in Indonesia with favorable infrastructure conditions and policy environment, and promote pragmatic cooperation in multiple areas both actively and steadily.

Minister Luhut highly complimented the significant positive effect of Chinese investment on Indonesia's economic and social development, looks forward to Chinese enterprises’ active participation in significant projects such as the Indonesia’s New Capital and the North Kalimantan Industrial Park, and deepening bilateral cooperation in industries such as renewable energy and electric vehicles.

Vice Chairman Zhao Chenxin, Li Chunlin, officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, China State Railway, China Development Bank, and departments of NDRC attended the meeting.
