White paper: Building a community with a shared future in cyberspace

On November 7, a white paper, titled "Jointly Build a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace," was released by China's State Council Information Office. The white paper introduces China's concepts and practices regarding Internet development and governance in the new era, shares the country's positive achievements in promoting the construction of a community with a shared future in cyberspace, and outlines the prospects of international cooperation in cyberspace.

The white paper points out that with the acceleration of the latest scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, the Internet has turned the world into a "global village" where countries share weal and woe, and a common future. It is the responsibility of the international community to well develop, use and govern the Internet to better benefit mankind.

According to the white paper, as the world's largest developing country and the country with the largest number of Internet users, China follows the development trend of the information era, adheres to the people-centered development philosophy and an approach to global governance based on extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits, and advances the construction of a community with a shared future in cyberspace.

The white paper points out that on the way forward into a new development stage, China implements its new development philosophy and creates a new development paradigm. It has made new achievements in stimulating the vitality of the digital economy, promoting the construction of a digital ecosystem, creating a healthy cyberspace, and preventing cybersecurity risks, thus providing effective services, and strong support and guarantees for high-quality development, and laying a solid foundation for building a community with a shared future in cyberspace. China has continuously deepened international exchanges and cooperation in cyberspace, expanded cooperation in the digital economy, and jointly maintained cyberspace security with other countries. It actively participates in the reform and construction of the global Internet governance system, promotes the inclusive development of the Internet, and works with the international community to build a community with a shared future in cyberspace.
