The Inaugural Meeting of the Working Group for the China-AU Cooperation on BRI successfully held

To implement the Cooperation Plan between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the African Union on Jointly Promoting the Building of the Belt and Road Initiative, in accordance with the arrangement of the MoU between the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the African Union Commission (AUC), Xu Jianping, Director of NDRC's Department of Regional Opening-up and Jacques Mukwende, Acting Director of the AUC's Partnership Management and Resource Mobilization Division co-chaired the inaugural meeting of the working group for the China-AU cooperation on Belt and Road Initiative on June 30, 2022.  

Relevant Chinese authorities and the AUC exchanged views on advancing the nine programs of China-Africa cooperation and the major programs and tasks under the cooperation plan. The two sides had in-depth exchange of views and deepened common understanding of cooperation in fields such as economy and trade, science and technology, geology and mining, infrastructure, energy, civil aviation, standards, etc. Officials of the Chinese Mission to the AU and the AU representative office in China also attended the meeting.
