China and Kiribati sign implementing program on joint building of BRI

On May 27, China and Kiribati signed the implementing program on joint building of BRI between the governments of the two countries.

The implementing program outlines the roadmap for joint building of BRI. Both countries will follow the principles of extensive consultation, joint construction and shared benefits, pursue open, green, and clean cooperation, adopt a high-standard, people-centered and sustainable approach, and constantly deepen the concrete cooperation on infrastructure construction, trade and investment, climate change, science and technology, renewable energy, customs and quarantine inspection, culture and tourism, etc. The signing of the implementing program aims to provide general guidance and expectations for both sides to further advance the BRI cooperation, promote more friendly political relations, stronger economic ties and more frequent people-to-people exchanges, and realize mutual benefits, win-win situation and common development.
