Chairman He Lifeng Held Video Meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan

On the morning of Feb 4th, He Lifeng, Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission of China (NDRC), held a video meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, who came to China to attend the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games Beijing 2022, Vice Chairman Tang Dengjie and Vice Chairman Ning Jizhe participated in the meeting. Chairman He Lifeng extended Chinese New Year greetings to Prime Minister Imran Khan and Pakistani friends. The two sides exchanged views on respective domestic macroeconomic situations, China-Pakistan economic and trade relations, and the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). During the meeting, the two sides signed two cooperation documents on industry and Gwadar Port.
 
 
The CPEC has entered a new stage of high-quality development, the leaders of the two sides have reached a consensus on promoting the high-quality operation of the corridor. As the Chinese leading department of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Joint Committee, the NDRC will work with the Pakistani side to implement the important instructions of the two states’ leaders, closely follow the “1+4” cooperation layout, and pragmatically promote the high-quality operation of the CPEC, solidly push the construction of health, industry, trade, digital and green corridors, build a demonstration project for the high-quality development of BRI, and join hands to build a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future for the new era.
