The Belt and Road Think Tank Cooperation Alliance (the Think Tank Alliance) was jointly initiated and established in April 2015 by the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Development Research Center of the State Council, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the China Center for International Economic Exchanges, and Fudan University. The Think Tank Alliance brings together a number of former government officials from Greece, Slovenia, Tanzania and other countries to serve as members of the International Advisory Committee, and it has attracted 122 mainstream think tanks from countries along the Belt and Road to become its council members and contribute to the co-construction of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Since 2020, the Think Tank Alliance has successively hosted the Cloud Forum of the Belt and Road Think Tank Cooperation Alliance, the “Moving Beyond Ideological Differences and Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind” International High-Level Thematic Cloud Forum, China’s New Development Pattern and High-Quality Co-Construction of the Belt and Road International Video Seminar, and other international conferences. Through these event, the Think Tank Alliance has promoted the BRI widely, clarified China’s position, and won extensive support from the international community.
