On the evening of March 30th, the 6th Annual Global Conference on Energy Efficiency was held online, attended by Deputy Secretary-General Su Wei of the National Development and Reform Commission(NDRC), and delivered a speech.

Su Wei pointed out that President Xi Jinping solemnly announced at the 75th Session of the UN General Assembly that China will strive to achieve the goal of carbon peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060, which fully demonstrated the great courage and firm confidence to fully promote green and low-carbon transformation and high-quality economic development, and fully explained China's great country style and responsibility to make greater contributions to global climate change. Saving energy and improving energy efficiency is an important starting point for promoting green and low-carbon energy development. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, China will strengthen the dual control of total energy consumption and intensity, deeply adjust the industrial structure, vigorously adjust the energy structure, implement renewable energy substitution actions, improve the energy-saving standard system, strengthen energy conservation in key areas, advocate green and low-carbon lifestyle, and strengthen international energy efficiency cooperation.

The Global Conference on Energy Efficiency was hosted by the International Energy Agency (IEA). This conference focused on how next-generation energy efficiency policies and programs can accelerate the achievement of high-ambition climate goals and clean energy transitions. Representatives and experts from relevant national energy efficiency management departments, international organizations, and enterprises attended the conference.
