NDRC and US Multinational Enterprises Roundtable Meeting•New Journey, Further Development Successfully Held in Beijing

On November 1st, NDRC and US Multinational Enterprises Roundtable Meeting/New Journey, Further Development was successfully held in Beijing. Gao Jian, Deputy Director General of the Department of International Cooperation of NDRC and Yu Lan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of China News Service attended the meeting and delivered speeches respectively.

Xu Qiang, President of China Development and Reform News, Xia Qing, Deputy Director General of the Department of Foreign Capital and Overseas Investment of NDRC, and Zhao Penggao, Deputy Director General of the Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection of NDRC shared their ideas and opinions about the report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China’s policies to attract foreign investment and China’s carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, and they have also answered questions raised by the representatives from American companies.

It is noted, the report to the 20th CPC National Congress draws a blueprint for China’s future and states China’s firm commitment to unswervingly advance high-level opening up. Foreign companies are warmly welcomed to further invest in China, actively integrate into China’s new development pattern, and deeply engage in China’s high-quality development process so as to contribute to the security and stability of the global supply chain and the recovery of the global economy.

Representatives from AmCham China, US-China Business Council and over 60 American companies with businesses covering high-end manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, energy, finance, automobiles, entertainment and other industries participated in the meeting.

After the meeting, the representatives from American companies said that through detailed interpretation and introduction, they had a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the report to the 20th CPC National Congress and developed higher confidence in their investment in China. In the future, they will further integrate into China’s new development pattern to seek more opportunities, and make positive contributions to promoting economic cooperation between China and US.
