It was organized by the People's Government of Shandong Province, and undertaken by the People's Government of Qingdao, Shandong Provincial Department of Transportation, and Shandong Port Group. The event, themed "Smoothing Circulation and Breaking New Ground", was poised to help forge an international corridor that connects the eastern and western regions of the country, and links the land and the sea. It also aimed to help raise China's opening up to a higher level with wider coverage and scope and better serve national strategies. According to the seminar, the cooperation among customs, ports, railways, and pilot free trade zones will help smooth logistics in the Yellow River basin, facilitate the establishment of a new opening up pattern in the Yellow River basin taking both foreign and domestic markets into account with links running eastward and westward over land and sea, and contribute more greatly to implementing significant national strategies concerned.
