BRICS High-level Forum on Sustainable Development was held from June 29 to 30 in Fuzhou, east China's Fujian Province, attracting 300-odd representatives from BRICS countries and international organizations to attend the event.
The importance of holding this forum has been highlighted in the 14th BRICS Summit Beijing Declaration. As an important BRICS-themed event held after the summit, the forum is a positive response to the deepening consensus of BRICS countries.
As an important event in the professional field of BRICS, the forum aims to strengthen communication and exchanges between BRICS countries and seek practical industrial cooperation. It is of great significance to the implementation of the China-proposed Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative, the implementation of the United Nation's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and the promotion of the construction of a global development community, Zhao Chenxin, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission said when addressing the forum.
Speaking of further promoting fruitful BRICS cooperation, Zhao proposed to stay committed to opening up and innovation for jointly boosting economic recovery, seek innovation-driven leap-forward development, strengthen environmental governance to build a community for human and nature, and improve people's livelihood and well-being.
