On December 29, 2021, the Awarding Ceremony for Outstanding Pakistani Staff of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Projects was held in Islamabad, capital of Pakistan. The awards went to 27 Pakistani workers from Gwadar Port and sectors of energy, infrastructure and industrial cooperation.
The awarding ceremony was hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan. Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong and Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar of Pakistan attended the ceremony and presented awards to the representatives of outstanding Pakistani staff.
Nong Rong congratulated the winners. He said that the achievements of CPEC are not possible without joint efforts of staff from both China and Pakistan. CPEC, as a landmark project of China-Pakistan cooperation and a successful regional economic cooperation platform, provides a broad stage for people to display their talents and realize personal values.
Asad Umar recalled the positive progress of CPEC over the past year, and encouraged all Pakistani staff to take advantage of the valuable opportunity of working and learning in Chinese enterprises and make more contributions to the projects.
Arsalan Khan from Karot Hydropower Project, as a representative of outstanding Pakistani staff, was glad to see that his performance got recognized. CPEC has provided Pakistan with investment and business opportunities, created a number of jobs and introduced advanced and professional technologies while he is one of the beneficiaries of CPEC.
It is the third award to outstanding Pakistani staff of CPEC projects and a year ago 18 outstanding Pakistani staff won the title.
