NDRC and US Multinational Enterprises Roundtable Meeting held in Sichuan

On October 26, with the theme of “Integrating into the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle and the New Development Dynamic”, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and US Multinational Enterprises Roundtable Meeting was held successfully in Sichuan. Mr. Ning Jizhe, Vice-Chairman of the NDRC, Mr. Luo Wen, Vice-Governor of Sichuan Province, and Mr. Yang Lin, Deputy Secretary-General of Chongqing Municipal Government attended the meeting and delivered opening speeches. 61 representatives from 49 US chambers of commerce and multinational enterprises in China attended the meeting.

Vice-Chairman Ning Jizhe pointed out that Sichuan and Chongqing have a good tradition in and foundation for cooperation with the US, which is the top trading partner of Sichuan and Chongqing. On October 20, China issued a master plan for the building of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, aiming to turn the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle into a new driver and an important growth engine of the country’s high-quality development. US entrepreneurs are welcomed to invest and do business in Sichuan and Chongqing and enjoy the opportunities brought by China’s development.

During the meeting, NDRC officials interpreted policies related to the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle and looked forward to the future of China-US economic cooperation. Officials from Sichuan and Chongqing elaborated on local business environment, industrial zones and relevant policies. Officials answered questions from representatives of US chambers of commerce and multinational enterprises in China.
