Central and Eastern Europe's largest hydropower plant built by Chinese firm commences construction

Recently, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Chinese-built Dabar Hydropower Plant project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was held, marking the official commencement of the largest hydropower station project undertaken by a Chinese enterprise in Central and Eastern Europe. Dabar hydropower station project has a total investment of 244 million euros, with an installed capacity of 159.15 megawatts, a normal reservoir water level of 836 meters, and an effective power generation capacity of 55 million cubic meters. Upon completion, the hydropower station will effectively alleviate the regional power shortage, promote local economic and social development, and contribute to energy security and green transformation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
