Recently, the first 100 MW unit of the Karuma Hydropower Station in Uganda supported by Chinese enterprise was successfully connected to the grid, marking a breakthrough of the largest hydropower station in Uganda. The project proposes to build a hydropower station with an installed capacity of 600 MW and a total of 400 kilometers of power transmission and transformation lines in northwestern Uganda. It will increase the overall power generation of Uganda by nearly 50 percent after it is put into operation, providing sufficient power supply for the industrial development of Uganda and strongly promoting local economic and social development.
