Zhangjiakou launches its first China-Europe freight train

On April 6, the first China-Europe freight train of Zhangjiakou - Shijiazhuang - Europe departed from Zhangjiakou Wanquan West Station to Moscow, the capital of Russia. This is the first China-Europe freight train launched in Zhangjiakou City, which not only opens a new efficient land route for economic and trade exchanges between Zhangjiakou and Europe, but also expands the number of train routes connecting Shijiazhuang and Europe to nine. It is an important measure for Shijiazhuang International Inland Port to create a centralized hub for China-Europe freight trains in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and to serve the high-quality development of Hebei's foreign trade. Zhangjiakou - Shijiazhuang - Europe freight train is jointly organized and operated by Zhangjiakou and Shijiazhuang cities to actively implement the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The inaugural train is loaded with 110 standard containers with auto parts and other export commodities to Russia, weighing more than 430 tons and valued at more than 24 million yuan. The goods will exit the country via Erenhot Port by the train, running 8,800 kilometers, and are expected to arrive in Moscow, Russia in 14 days.
