On April 3, the launching ceremony of the cross-border rail and highway intermodal transport train (Chongqing - Ruili - Myanmar) of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) was held at Xiaonanya Railway Logistics Center in Jiangjin Luohuang Port Industry City. This is the first ILSTC China-Myanmar cross-border rail and highway intermodal freight train route to export goods through Ruili Port. It is reported that the train service starts from the Xiaonangya Railway Logistics Center, passes Baoshan North Station in Yunnan, and then exports goods to Myanmar by road from Wanding Port of Ruili City. Compared with traditional river-sea transportation, the new intermodal transport service can save about 20 days. The inaugural train carried 32 40-foot containers with a total weight of nearly 600 tons, including raw materials for fertilizers and motorcycle parts, with a value of about 16 million yuan. The opening of the intermodal freight train service will not only help to expand the overseas markets in Southeast Asia and South Asia for goods made in Chongqing, but also promote more and faster access of Southeast Asian goods to the domestic market through Jiangjin, so as to promote Jiangjin's greater participation in international foreign exchanges and cooperation. It also enhances the opening-up level of Chongqing as a national land and port-based logistics hub, and strengthens economic and trade exchanges and international cooperation between the Chengdu-Chongqing region and other western provinces and Southeast Asian and South Asian countries.
