Recently, the installation of the No. 1 gas turbine generator of the Rupsha combined-cycle power project in Bangladesh, undertaken by Chinese enterprises, has made great progress, marking a step closer to operation of the project. The Rupsha combined-cycle power plant is the largest gas-fired combined-cycle power plant under construction in Bangladesh and the largest single-engine power station in Bangladesh, which plays a key role in the Bangladesh Power Master Plan. When the project is put into operation, it will greatly alleviate the pressure of power supply shortage in and around southwest Bangladesh and is of great significance for driving local economic development and expanding employment.
