Recently, the Al Dhafra PV2 Solar Power Plant Project in the United Arab Emirates, undertaken by a Chinese enterprise, achieved grid-connected power generation for the first time. This project is the largest single PV power plant in the world at present. A Chinese enterprise undertook a series of works such as topographic and geological surveys, design, equipment supply, civil engineering, installation, debugging, trial operation and commercial grid connection, and is responsible for two-year operation and maintenance of the power plant. After completion of the project, 160,000 households could get access to the clean electricity, which will help Abu Dhabi reduce carbon emissions by 2.4 million tons a year, and contribute to sustainable development of the economy of the United Arab Emirates.
