The first China railway express loaded with 82 TEUs of imported panels from Russia headed southward after customs clearance at Suifenhe Port, ran along the special railway line for Taicang Port, and finally arrived at the pontoon operation station in Taicang Port Multimodal Transport Logistics Park on August 31. This means that Taicang Port welcomed the first China railway express, which will further tap into the new momentum of its sea-rail intermodal transport.

Taicang Port operates a total of 217 container liner routes. It is the port with the largest number of routes, the highest density and the widest coverage along the Yangtze River. The port has fostered a transport system of "dual-circulation" featuring road-rail-water combined transport. In China, the system has full access to coastal areas, the Yangtze River and inland rivers. Internationally, it is dominated by offshore direct routes and supported by oceangoing transit.
