On May 17, the construction of the Dhaka ring expressway in Bangladesh built by a Chinese enterprise achieved significant progress. The paving of the 200m test section of the 25cm-thick pavement base of the project was completed, marking the start of the full construction stage of this project.
With a total length of 48.11km and a total investment of about 2.844 billion yuan, the Dhaka ring expressway is Bangladesh's first closed toll highway built under public-private partnership. After being opened to traffic, the expressway will effectively divert the ring traffic flow of Dhaka, relieve traffic pressure, spur employment of local residents and promote rapid economic growth along with it.
