Recently, a Chinese enterprise and SONATRACH have held a signing ceremony in Algiers, the capital of Algeria. The two sides will invest 490 million U.S. dollars to jointly develop the Zarzaitine Oilfield in the eastern province of Illizi, of which the Chinese side will invest 70 percent. The construction of this project will effectively increase Algeria's oil production and better guarantee its energy security.
