The Tunnel 1 breakthrough ceremony of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway (hereinafter called “the Project”) was held successfully in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, on 15th December, 2020. H.E.Ning Jizhe, designated by H.E.He Lifeng, Chairman of NDRC, attended the ceremony via vedio link and read out the letter of congratulation from H.E.He Lifeng.
In his letter of congratulation, H.E.He Lifeng fully acknowledges the construction progress of the Project and sincerely appreciates all related government officials and construction teams who made great contribution to the development of the Project. H.E.He also said that this Project is a landmark Project of the Belt and Road Initiative and similar efforts should also be made to other bilateral practical cooperation projects between the two countries.
H.E.Ning Jizhe said that NDRC would as usual attach great importance to the Project, China will continue to work closely with Indonesia to overcome difficulties, and speed up Project construction in a safe and secure manner.
Mr. Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investments of Indonesia, H.E.Xiao Qian, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, high-level representatives of the Department of International Cooperation of NDRC, China Railways and Powerchina also attended the ceremony.
