Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission approved the Foreign Capital Utilization Plan for the ADB Loan to Public Service Sector PPP Promotion Demonstration Project II (Xiangyang Resident Elderly Care Demonstration Project), with a view to supporting the construction of the elderly care service system in Xiangyang City, Hubei Province, improving local elderly care policies and regulatory frameworks, and constructing sustainable and inclusive elderly care facilities. The total investment of this project is 2.134 billion RMB, of which 150 million USD (equivalent to 1.05 billion RMB) is to be borrowed from ADB. The funds will be mainly used to develop community elderly care service stations, demonstration areas for the integration of medical and elderly care, elderly care service information platform, human resources and institutional capacity building, and etc.
