Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) approved the Foreign Capital Utilization Plan for the ADB Loan to Henan Xichuan Integrated Ecological Protection and Environmental Improvement Project, with a view to further protecting the water source of the South-North Water Transfer Project and improving the ecological environment of the Danjiangkou Reservoir and the quality of local residents' life. The total investment of this project is 3.02 billion RMB, of which 0.2 billion USD (equivalent to 1.37 billion RMB) is to be borrowed from ADB. The funds will be used for flood control embankment reinforcement, integrated river training management, urban and rural water supply, and waste water management infrastructure construction, green development of forestry and fruit farming, information system and institutional capacity building, and etc.
