Phased Progress Achieved for China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway

With the joint efforts of China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, a cooperation document on China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway was signed by the National Development and Reform Commission of China, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan, and the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit held in Samarkand. It marks the phased progress of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Ukraine Railway Project.

At present, the field survey of the feasibility study for the Project is undertaken by more than 180 engineers and experts from China Railway First Survey and Design Institute Group Co., Ltd since August 2, 2022. Up to now, geological exploration is being carried out in an orderly manner according to the established work plan. If the progress is smooth, it is expected that the field survey could be completed before the end of the year, and all the feasibility studies will be completed by the end of June 2023 as planned.
