From March 29 to 30, the eighth batch of China-donated COVID-19 vaccine to Cambodia arrived in Phnom Penh in succession. On the morning of March 29, Wu Guoquan, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, and Yok Sambath, Ministry of Health Secretary of State, welcomed the arrival at the airport.
Wu Guoquan said that the relevant departments of China and Cambodia have closely cooperated to deliver the new batch of vaccine at the fastest speed and with high quality. He believed that the vaccine will support Cambodia in better implementing the booster shot campaign and help the Cambodian people celebrate a peaceful and happy Cambodian New Year. China and Cambodia are true iron-clad brothers. Follow-up vaccines will be delivered in succession according to the progress of Cambodia's vaccine booster shot and actual needs, providing an important guarantee for Cambodia's economic and social development.
Yok Sambath said that China was the first country to provide vaccines to Cambodia after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. To support Cambodia in fighting the pandemic and protecting people's lives, China has provided Cambodia with multiple batches of vaccine, with the first batch arriving in Cambodia on February 7, 2021. No country in the world has provided Cambodia with such a large number of vaccines as China. China has become a strong guarantee for the effective implementation of Cambodia's vaccination strategy.
