China's foreign trade has reached a new height. According to the recent figures released by the General Administration of Customs, China's foreign trade of goods in 2021, in U.S. dollar terms, first reached a record high of 6 trillion U.S. dollars.
Statistics show that, after topping 4 trillion U.S. dollars in 2013 for the first time, China's foreign trade took two big steps of 5 and 6 trillion U.S. dollars, reaching 6.05 trillion U.S. dollars in 2021. The foreign trade in 2021 grew by 1.4 trillion U.S. dollars, equivalent to the total in 2005.
Denominated in Chinese yuan, China's total foreign trade in 2021 expanded 21.4 percent year-on-year to 39.1 trillion yuan. To be specific, exports grew by 21.2 percent year-on-year to 21.73 trillion yuan, while imports increased by 21.5 percent to 17.37 trillion yuan.
