At 15:05 on September 16, the safe landing of an Airbus A320 passenger aircraft from China Southern Airlines on the runway marked a complete success of the field verification test flight at Suifenhe Dongning Airport. It is the first time for Dongning Airport to witness the landing of a passenger aircraft, which indicates that Suifenhe-Dongning pilot development and opening-up zone is about to usher in the "era of aerial port."
Suifenhe Dongning Airport, covering an area of 1.97 square kilometers and designed with an annual passenger throughput of 450,000 and an annual cargo and mail throughput of 3,600 tons, is the 14th branch airport in Heilongjiang Province. The airport and its supporting facilities involve a total investment of RMB 1.471 billion. The commissioning of Suifenhe Dongning Airport will contribute to the construction of a three-dimensional transportation system in the pilot zone, boost the development of modern logistics, accelerate the transformation and upgrading of local industries, and create new areas of economic growth, thus empowering the high-quality economic and social development of the pilot area.
