Chinese train maker CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. recently rolled out the first double-decker EMU train for export to Germany. The EMU train will be used on railway lines in five European countries in 2023, and meet the demand for railway transport and regional connectivity in Europe.
Independently developed by Chinese company, the double-decker EMU train meet the European Union’s technical specification. With a top speed of 200 kilometers per hour, the train is equipped with 571 seats and can carry up to 1,280 passengers. The capacity of the train is 30 to 35 percent higher than that of a flat-layer train.
