In the first half of 2021, the total import and export value of Jiangsu Province reached around 2.4 trillion yuan, up 19.9 percent year-on-year and an increase of 16.2 percent from the same period in 2019, accounting for 13.3 percent of the country's total. Specifically, exports rose by 22.1 percent year-on-year to around 1.481 trillion yuan, up 14.8 percent from the same period in 2019. The total import value increased by 16.4 percent year-on-year to 917.57 billion yuan, up 18.5 percent from the same period in 2019. During the same period, Jiangsu Province's imports and exports to countries along the Belt and Road reached 610.3 billion yuan, an increase of 25.8 percent on a yearly basis.
