The Department of Trade is responsible for monitoring and analyzing both domestic and international markets; maintaining the aggregate balance and macro adjustment of important commodities; formulating plans for the total volume of import and export of important agricultural products, industrial products and raw materials, supervising the implementation of these plans and adjusting them in accordance with national economic performance; managing the state reserve of important materials and commodities including grain, cotton, sugar, etc; putting forward strategies and plans for the development of modern logistics; and coordinating major issues of distribution system reform.
