Department of International Cooperation

The Department of International Cooperation of the NDRC is in charge of cooperation between the NDRC and international organizations, foreign government agencies and foreign institutions. The Department is also responsible for assisting other departments to promote major international cooperative projects and carrying out studies on world economy and the day-to-day foreign affairs of the Commission.

The Department of International Cooperation has the following specific functions:

1.To handle the cooperation between the NDRC and foreign government agencies, companies and institutions and international organizations;

2.To assist other departments to promote major international cooperative projects;

3.To administer all foreign affairs of the Commission and institutions affiliated to the NDRC, and handle day-to-day foreign affairs of the Commission and official documents between the NDRC and foreign parties;

4.To guide the work of economic sections set up by the NDRC within Chinese embassies abroad, assist the Personnel Department in selecting officials and dispatching them to economic sections and organize studies on world economy;

5.To work out rules and regulations on foreign affairs in the NDRC and supervise their implementation;

6.To examine and approve the applications by staff for going abroad submitted by departments of the NDRC and institutions affiliated to the NDRC;

7.To maintain financial control in foreign affairs in the Commission and earmark currency quota to institutions affiliated to the NDRC;

8.To organize international training programs;

9.To undertake tasks of foreign affairs assigned by the State Council or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and coordinate cooperation between the NDRC and other central government agencies in foreign affairs;

10.To guide the foreign affairs service provided by the Protocol Division of Service Center of the NDRC;

11.To undertake other tasks assigned by the leadership of the NDRC.
